Unfortunately, we do not have any power to enforce this stretch of cycle lane parking – there is no Traffic Regulation Order on it. I have just spoken to a member of staff from Traffic Management who has advised me that the cycle lane markings in Burgess Road are purely advisory. The scheme was put in this way apparently because it would not attract any substantive implementation cost, and would not be subject to any objections from a public notice. - Highways & Parking Division
